KATE WOODS, FCIPD Director of Blue Sky Programme Manager (CIPD qualifications)
Before moving across to concentrate on managing HR and Management qualifications Kate was, for 10 years, an HR manager and then HR Director for a local business. She has over 20 years experience delivering professional qualifications and has built up a reputation for delivering quality programmes with an exceptional pass rate. Kate is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (CIPD), has a BA (Hons) degree in Humanities/Social Studies, and also a PGCE teaching qualification. She is also a qualified Assessor/IQA as well as being an EQA for CIPD.
BETH RUSSELL, ASSOC. CIPD Director of Blue Sky Programme Manager (ILM qualifications)
Beth started her career as a Retail Manager before moving into training and development and qualifying as an assessor of NVQs. She has experience of learning and development in organisations in both the Middle East and the UK, and has lectured in Business at City College Norwich. Beth has been involved with the delivery of professional qualifications since 1995 when she began working with Kate. She has a Certificate in Education and Assessor qualifications.
NIKKI WRIGHT Blue Sky’s Office Manager
Having previously worked with Kate and Beth she joined Blue Sky at the beginning, gradually increasing her responsibility and indispensability over the years.  She has worked in administration for over 20 years in a variety of roles and for a number of those years as an experienced PA within the training environment, moving on only to develop her own small business. Nikki’s role is to manage the administration function including student evaluation, and the day to day accounts.  She has an NVQ level 3 in Business Administration. She was also a Regional PA of the year winner.
CAREN WAY Blue Sky’s Student Administrator
Caren joined the team in 2018 after a long-standing career in Retail Banking. She worked in numerous branches during her career and worked through significant change in the Banking Sector. At the height of her career, she was an Area Manager looking after a team of Mortgage Advisers in the East Anglia area, with responsibility for their training and development and sales performance. Caren has specific responsibility for Blue Sky’s student database and its upkeep, she also coordinates the distribution of learning materials to students, monitors feedback for evaluation purposes, supports our Office Manager and has become an integral part of the Blue Sky team.
JACKIE CLIFFORD, BSc (Hons), FITOL Tutor
Jackie is an experienced HR consultant with specific expertise in the field of learning and development. She is a director of Clarity Learning and Development and has experience of working with clients in the private, public and voluntary sectors, She is also the co-author of 3 books, all published by Kogan Page; including  "The Coaching Handbook". Jackie is a qualified assessor, holds a PGCE teaching qualification and has the BPS Level A qualification and is accredited to use the 16PF psychological profiling tool. She is an Associate Member of CIPD, and a Fellow of the Institute of Training and Occupational Learning. As well as working as a consultant, Jackie is Chair of the Essex and Ipswich CIPD group. For Blue Sky Professional Development, Jackie delivers ILM and CIPD programmes at all levels as well as bespoke training programmes.
ROGER TAYLOR, FCIPD Tutor
Roger joined the team in Autumn 2012 and delivers the workshops for both the CIPD and ILM programmes at all levels. His background is HR management based with particular expertise in L&D (Head of People Development & Learning at The Insolvency Service, an Agency of BIS). Previous to this he worked in the Department of Trade & Industry, HM Customs & Excise (as were) and the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (in Geneva). Although his main background is in L&D he has vast experience of management and generalist HR. Roger has an NVQ Level 5 Training and Development Strategy, assessor/verifier awards, as well as being Belbin accredited. He is a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD and has been on the CIPD Mid and North Anglia Branch Committee.
TRISH McCARTHY, ASSOC. CIPD Tutor
Trish has 14 years’ experience working in the public and voluntary sector leisure service industry, focussing on staff training, and personal development before moving into the education environment.   She has over 15 years experience working across Vocational, Further and Higher Education from levels 2 through to 7 delivering leadership and management programmes using face to face, and online delivery and assessment methods.  She has a reputation for a high success rate, supported with detailed quality and content of student assessment. Trish is an associate CIPD member and volunteers with the Norfolk CIPD group mentoring scheme, she holds a BA (Hons) and MA in Management studies, along with a CIPD post graduate Diploma in HRM.  She holds various teaching qualifications along with the assessor and verifier qualifications as well as being an external verifier. Working as a tutor for Blue Sky, Trish delivers CIPD programmes at level 3, 5 and 7, as well as ILM qualifications.
DR PAUL CUNNINGHAM Tutor
Paul joined Blue Sky in 2014 working on both CIPD and ILM programmes. He has 15 years managerial experience and 7 years Training and Development experience in both the Public and Private sector before moving into Education. He then spent 17 years lecturing at City College Norwich where he taught on a range of business, management and HR courses. Paul was also a Programme Manager at the College. Paul has a PhD in Economic History and an MBA from the UEA, as well as a PGCE (Post Compulsory). He is an Assoc. Member of CIPD.
STELLA DAY, BA (HONS), CHARTERED FCIPD Tutor
Stella is an experienced senior HR professional and project manager and is a director of BlueStar HR.  With almost 20 years’ experience across the full range of HR activities, she has managed major change programmes in both the public and private sector and has contributed to HR strategy and plans on a pan European basis and has expertise with local authority clients. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development and has a Certificate in Teaching in the Life long Learning Sector, a Certificate in Counselling Skills and is a qualified MBTI practitioner. Stella is also a Professional Coach for Colchester Institute’s HR Apprenticeship Programme, and is a school governor at two local schools. Stella works as a tutor and assessor for Blue Sky Professional Development and delivers CIPD programmes at all levels as well as bespoke HR training.
LORNA TAYLOR, MA, LLM, MCIPD Tutor
With over 17 years generalist HR experience in both the public and private sectors, Lorna joined Bluesky in 2019. Alongside working within the HR profession, Lorna also works as an Associate Tutor for the University of East Anglia’s (UEA) Business School. Over the last 10 years this has included lecturing and tutoring on their Human Resources undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Building on Chartered CIPD Membership (MCIPD), Lorna has continued her own continuous professional development including successfully gaining a Masters in Human Resource Management (MA) and Masters in Employment Law (LLM). Working within generalist HR roles at different levels has provided opportunities to design and deliver training as well as focus on specific areas of interest to Lorna including: Employment Law, Equality and Diversity, Health and Wellbeing and Strategic HR.
LAURA PHILPOTT Tutor
Laura has 20 years experience working in HR, specialising in Learning and Development. During that time, she held managerial and leadership roles across a range of sectors, including finance, construction and most recently, the energy sector. Since 2017 Laura has run her own consultancy, delivering a range of learning and development solutions with a particular focus on 1:1 coaching. Laura is an active member of the CIPD and EMCC with an ILM qualification in executive coaching and CIPD post- graduate certificate in strategic learning and development management. She is also an accredited practitioner of psychometrics such as MBTI and Belbin Team Roles. Laura began tutoring and assessing ILM Level 7 executive coaching qualifications six years ago and now works with Blue Sky supporting CIPD students predominantly in the area of continuing professional development.
